IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • How big of hole should I did when planting?
Typically you would dig a hole that is twice as big around and twice and deep. When you plant your tree make sure the top of the tree in the pot is the top after it's planted, don't go any deeper. Digging a bigger hole and then filling it back in will make it easier for the roots to grow.
  • How important is weed & grass control?
We believe that weed and grass control is the #1 factor in your trees growth. We spray around our trees to kill any weeds and grass so they don't rob the tree's water or other nutrients.
  • Will the deer eat my new trees?
In our experience deer don't like the taste of spruce trees so they will typically leave those alone. This is why spruce trees are our favorite. Keep in mind that in the fall the Whitetail deer are in the "rut" which puts all little trees at risk of having deer rub their antlers on them. Often times this will kill your tree so in Iowa we get all of our smaller trees fenced in by the middle of September.
  • How does buy 10 get 1 free promotion work?
It works just like it sounds. Throughout the year we will offer a buy 10 get 1 free special which means if you buy 10 trees you can take home an additional tree.
  • Do you offer a warranty or guarantee?
We can't offer a warranty or a guarantee because people can't guarantee how they will take care of the trees after they get them home
  • Do you offer delivery and planting?
Yes. Please talk to Shawn and he can give you details.
  • What payment options do you accept?
Cash / Credit Card (via Square) / Venmo and in some cases checks with people we know.
  • Why are your tree less expensive than other places?
Our goal isn't to get it rich, our goal is to get as many trees planted as possible because we love trees. We make a few bucks a tree and we are okay with that. We have heard from customers that some places charge hundreds of dollars per tree....our recommendation would be don't go there, come to Woodward Acres to buy your trees.
